About: Hi, I am Naveed Ahmed, and I am exploring how the bad bugs fight drugs. My area of interest is molecular epidemiology, AMR, ecology of bacteria, pathogenetic roles of certain genes, possible nano drug targets, and Immunology such as cytokines and flocytometry. I obtained a BSc (Hons) in Medical Laboratory Technology from the prestigious University of the Punjab and I pursued my Masters in Microbiology at the University of Central Punjab, Pakistan. I was offered a Ph.D. position in Medical Microbiology under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Chan Yean Yean, which focused on the role of LMP1 30-bp deletion mutation in the pathogenesis of Epstein-Barr Virus. My research portfolio encompasses diverse areas of public health concern with clear implications for improving health outcomes. During scholarly pursuits, my research spans multiple disciplines, including cancer immunology, microbiology, microbial pathogenesis and antimicrobial resistance. Specifically, in Microbiology, I focus on delving into critical issues shaping the field. I explore the microbiological insights from the COVID-19 pandemic, analyzing its implications on future preventive measures. I investigate the looming threat of antimicrobial resistance, aiming to understand its mechanisms and potential solutions to avert a future pandemic. Additionally, I delve into the synthesis of plant-derived nanoparticles, employing green methods to create these nanoparticles and uncover their therapeutic potential. Apart from this, I have also worked on cancer immunology where I have seen the expression of many biomarkers in cancer patients. I have used the approaches to use the immunological biomarkers for therapeutic and prognostic purposes. Through interdisciplinary collaboration and rigorous experimentation, my work contributes to advancing knowledge in cancer immunology and microbiology and addressing pressing global health challenges.
