Brazil - Belém do Pará _ Recorded 5,344 cases of dengue, 163 of zika and 170 of chikungunya fever between January 1 and August 8 this year, the 11th Tell Epidemiologic 2016, released on Wednesday (10) by the Ministry of Health public (Sespa) on occurrences confirmed the three diseases transmitted by the mosquito Aedes aegypti.Of Pará municipalities with the highest incidence of dengue, Bethlehem continues to lead the ranking with 517 confirmed cases. Then come Dom Eliseu (with 423), Alenquer (421) Itaituba (406), Oriximiná (297), Maraba (276), Pacajá (219) and Tucuruí (215). Throughout the state there were no reports of deaths from any of the three diseases in 2016.For confirmation of death is required epidemiological research with application of Death Investigation Protocol of the Ministry of Health, which provides specific tests in accredited state laboratories such as the Central Laboratory (Lacen) and Instituto Evandro Chagas (IEC) - recommended by the National program for Dengue Control. The most severe form of the disease is characterized by bleeding and can lead to death.
The  Chikungunya mainly characterized themselves by intense joint pain. The symptoms last between 10 and 15 days, but the joint pain may persist for months and even years. Serious complications and death are very rare. Already the fever zika symptoms which are limited to a maximum of seven days. This year there is no record of deaths caused by the disease in Pará.The Sespa reiterates that care zika follow the same procedures in relation to dengue and chikungunya. Only in 2015 were recorded 42 cases of the disease in the state. This year, to date, 163 instances were confirmed by the IEC, through laboratory testing. Treatment for zika is supportive and sequelae correction.Sespa advises that, even with the dry season, when there is less rainfall, the population must continue to fight possible mosquito breeding sites. In case of difficulty, people should trigger the Dengue Control of municipal programs maintained by municipalities, visiting the homes to inspect possible sites that serve as breeding sites for the mosquito, in order to eliminate breeding sites and advise residents about prevention and control of Aedes aegypti.
